-In August 2009, Trinity McCray entered into the world of wrestling when WWE signed her to a developmental deal. Before joining WWE. She had previously performed as a cheerleader for the Orlando Magic basketball team and as a backing dancer for the multi-platinum-selling rapper Flo Rida.
-She reported to WWE’s Florida Championship Wrestling territory for training and made her debut there the following month under the ring name Naomi Night. In June 2010 she won a tournament to be crowned FCW’s first ever Divas champion.
-She first appeared on WWE’s main roster programming in September 2010 as part of the third season of NWA SAW, now known simply as Naomi. She finished runner-up in the competition behind Kaitlyn.
-After returning to FCW, Naomi was re-called to the main roster in January 2012 as one half of The Funkadactyls, the backing dancers and valets for ’the Funkasaurus’ Brodus Clay, alongside Cameron. Naomi and Cameron continued to accompany Brodus, as well as his Tons of Funk tag team partner Tensai, until Clay turned heel at the TLC pay-per-view in December 2013 by attacking rookie Xavier Woods after Woods ’borrowed’ Clay’s entrance theme and the Funkadactyls for his debut on Raw a few weeks earlier.
-2013 also saw the Funkadactyls establish themselves as active wrestlers, often in a tag team. They continued to team together after the Tons of Funk break-up, eventually splitting in July 2014 when Cameron turned heel on Naomi. They faced each other during the pre-show for the Battleground pay-per-view later that month, with Cameron emerging victorious.
- Naomi turned heel for the first time in April 2015, assaulting Paige after Paige had eliminated her to win a battle royal to determine the number 1 contender to the WWE Divas Title. She joined forces with Tamina in May, and Sasha Banks in July, with the trio forming Team BAD (Beautiful And Dangerous).
-Since July 2013, Naomi has featured as a cast member on WWE and the E! network’s reality series ’Total Divas,’ in which she is known by her real first name, Trinity. The show documents her real-life romantic relationship with fellow WWE wrestler Jonathan Fatu, better known as Jimmy Uso, who she married on January 16 2014. |
