- Ariane Andrew grew up in Northridge, California. She attended California State University in her home town, gaining Bachelor’s degrees in business marketing and psychology, before moving to North Hollywood, Los Angeles, to work as a behavioural therapist and part-time fashion model. She is of mixed African-American and Korean descent. - In 2011, she was selected for WWE’s Tough Enough reality series, in which aspiring wrestlers competed for a contract with the company. Despite being the first eliminated from the show, she was later signed to a WWE developmental deal after winning a non-televised Diva Search and reported to the Florida Championship Wrestling territory, where she debuted in July under the ring name Cameron Lynn. - In January 2012, now known simply as Cameron, she was called up to the main roster as one of The Funkadactyls, the backing dancers and valets for ’the Funkasaurus’ Brodus Clay, alongside Naomi. They continued to accompany Brodus, as well as his Tons of Funk tag team partner Tensai, until Clay turned heel at the TLC pay-per-view in December 2013 by attacking rookie Xavier Woods for ’borrowing’ his entrance theme and the Funkadactyls for his debut on Raw a few weeks earlier. - 2013 also saw the Funkadactyls establish themselves as active wrestlers, often in a tag team. They continued to team together after the Tons of Funk break-up, eventually splitting in July 2014 when Cameron turned heel on Naomi. They faced each other during the pre-show for the Battleground pay-per-view later that month, with Cameron emerging victorious. - Andrew appeared as a cast member in the first three seasons of WWE and the E! network’s reality show ’Total Divas,’ in which she was known by her real first name, Ariane. The show premiered in July 2013. |
