- Matt Rehwoldt was born in Chicago, Illinois. He studied drama at Columbia College, Chicago, graduating with a Batchelor of Arts. Shortly after leaving college, he began training to become a professional wrestler. He started competing on the Illinois independent circuit in 2011, using the name Matt Marquee, most notably working for Chicago Style Wrestling, where he formed the tag team The Ryte Stuff with Barry Ryte. - In early 2012 he signed a developmental contract with WWE and reported to its Florida Championship Wrestling developmental territory in April under the name Aiden English. When FCW was re-branded as NWA SAW, English was used as enhancement talent, until late 2013 when he utilised his drama background to develop the character of a pretentious theater performer who would sing on his way to the ring. - In June 2014, English partnered with the debuting Simon Gotch to form the tag team of The Vaudevillains. Initially heels, the pair returned from a brief hiatus in the summer of 2015 as babyfaces, and captured the NXT Tag Team Titles in August when they defeated Blake and Murphy at NXT Takeover: Brooklyn. |
