IW[9/17-?]: Impact quarter-hour ratings report
TNAW Impact Wrestling on Thursday, January 19 scored a 1.20 rating off a first hour 1.20 rating and second hour 1.19 rating. It marks the third consecutive week to start 2012 that the second hour scored lower than the first hour.

Included in the second hour was the lowest-rated segment of the show in the eighth quarter-hour. However, it was not a large drop-off like other weeks.

The peak rating was a 1.24 rating at the top of the second hour before Impact steadily dropped off the remainder of the show before finishing with a 1.15 rating in Q8.

First Hour Break Down

Q1: Impact opened with a 1.20 rating for Robert Roode, James Storm, Jeff Hardy, and Sting setting the stage for Storm-Hardy in the main event. Plus, there was one commercial. (up 1.9% vs. 2011-Q1 average)

Q2: Impact increased slightly to a 1.21 rating for Gunner vs. AJ Styles with Ric Flair ringside, plus one commercial. (up 4.7% vs. 2011-Q1 average)

Q3: Impact reached the first hour peak of a 1.23 rating for Crimson vs. Magnus focusing on the tag division, plus backstage segments, and one commercial break. (up 5.4% vs. 2011-Q3 average)

Q4: Impact dropped to a first hour low of a 1.17 rating for the first-half of Mickie James vs. Madison Rayne in a steel cage match, plus two commercial breaks dragging down the rating. (up 4.0% vs. 2011-Q4 average)

Second Hour Break Down

Q5: Impact increased to a show-high 1.24 rating for the second-half of Mickie-Madison, one commercial, and a post-match celebration with the Knockouts. (up 0.7% vs. 2011-Q5 average)

Q6: Impact began a steady decline with a 1.19 rating for Austin Aries and Alex Shelley's in-ring promo exchange, plus one commercial break. (up 2.6% vs. 2011-Q6 average)

Q7: Impact declined slightly to a 1.17 rating for Eric Young vs. Angelina Love and one commercial. (up 2.6% vs. 2011-Q7 average)

Q8: Impact declined slightly to a show-low 1.15 rating for the main event Hardy-Storm match, post-match angle with Roode, Sting, and Bully Ray, and one commercial break. (down 2.3% vs. 2011-Q8 average)

The eighth quarter-hour was the only segment of the show that scored below its corresponding 2011 quarter-hour average. Also, the first quarter-hour, with a 1.20 rating, was the only segment that was not the highest-rated segment of 2012 in the corresponding quarter-hour. (The January 5 Impact scored a 1.23 rating in Q1. The Jan. 12 Impact tied with a 1.20 rating in Q1.)
